The Global Schools Foundation (GSF) has been contributing to the needs of deserving students through various programmes and initiatives. With the Global Sports Scholarship (GSS) programme, GSF aims to provide foundational support to young sportspersons and recognise their achievements at the international and national levels. Along with financial support, the scholarship will also focus on encouraging budding talents by proper mentorship as and when required.
This scholarship is aimed for students who are residents of India, including the existing parent and student fraternity of GIIS Nagpur, across grades 7-12. Candidates are invited to apply for Global Sports Scholarship for various individual and team disciplines including Badminton, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Chess, Athletics, Gymnastics, Swimming, Archery, Shooting, Boxing, Weightlifting, Cycling, Diving, Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Netball, Martial Arts (Judo & Karate), Wrestling, Hockey, Cricket, Rugby and Squash.

Eligibility Criteria :
1) Applicants must have a national / international repute.
2) Applicants must come from a Moderate Income family(with Annual family income of less than INR 5 Lacs).
3) Academic performance (at least 70% marks and above or equivalent grades) of past two years.
4) Must be affiliated with a Sports Coach or a recognized Sports Body/ Federation/ Academy.
5) Pass a skills test and Interview.
6) Be able to demonstrate strong evidence of future outstanding potential.
7) Have consistently played for the last 2 years, i.e. represented their country at national OR international levels in the last 2/3 years.
8) Be members of winner and runners-up teams and first/second or third position holders in individual events at National level OR
9) Have represented / winner of junior / senior National championships/ games for last 2 years OR
10) Have an outstanding achievement in sports at the international level, minimally at the SEA Games and/or at the other Major Games or equivalent competition OR
11) Be talented players identified in priority sports disciplines at various International / National Level competitions.

1. VALIDITY
(i) The scholarship will be valid for aperiod as per the tenure specified in the respective scholarship descriptions.
(ii) If a student is grantedscholarship in mid-year in any particular academic year, then that academicyear will be treated as the first academic year and shall be valid till the endof the validity period end.
iii)There is no cash or other alternativeto the Scholarship in whole or in part, unless otherwise provided at school’ssole and unfettered discretion.
(iv) The Scholarship is as stated and isnon-exchangeable, cannot be substituted and is non-transferable.
(v) The scholarship is a benefitapplicable for studying only at GIIS, Nagpur campuses only and is non-transferrable.
(vi) The continuation of scholarship intothe second year will be subject to the review of student performance. Studentmust achieve at least a score equivalent to the category based on whichScholarship was granted to him/ her
2. SCHOLARSHIP TERMS
(i) During any academic year, ifthe student is already a recipient of any scholarship/benefit, then the studentshall not be deemed eligible for new scholarships or fee related benefitsannounced for that particular Academic year. In short a student cannot applyfor newly announced scholarships or added fee related benefits during thepresent academic year in case he/she has already received a scholarship forthat academic year. At any given time, a student can avail only one fee relatedbenefit, either subsidy or scholarship
(iii) The parent of a successfulapplicant is required to execute a scholarship DEED as acceptance of thescholarship within 7 working days from the date of notification of scholarshipresults.
(iv) All successful applicants (newAdmissions) are required to register within two weeks & join the schoolwithin 90 days of offering a scholarship or unless otherwise specificallymentioned by the school.
(v) Students who avail the scholarshipare required to complete the full term.
(vi) The scholarship is applicable ontuition fees and is not applicable on one time registration fees, transport/busfees, uniform and miscellaneous fees etc.
(vii) Students who avail theScholarships, are required to pay their term fees in full as per school terms.The scholarship refund will be processed exclusively through GIRO. GIRO will bea pre-requisite for scholarship to be disbursed.
(ix) Scholarship sum refers to the entireamount disbursed by the School under the said Scholarship.
(x) In the event any scholarshiprecipient is required to leave the school in the middle of the term, thestudent shall not be entitled to any scholarship for that term.
3. TERMINATION :
(i) In case if partial, wrong andmisleading information is provided, scholarship will be considered null andvoid. The scholarship amount which is already credited will have to be refundedback to the school. The school has the right to terminate the scholarshipwithout notice.
(ii) The scholarship may be withdrawn atany time if, in the opinion of the school, the scholarship holder's progress orbehaviour is deemed unsatisfactory. The scholarship will be monitored and theapplicant will be required to maintain good conduct.
4. BRAND PARTICIPATION
(i) Scholarship recipients are requiredto take on the role of student ambassador or any other similar rolerepresenting GIIS to give publicity talks and testimonials as and when calledupon to do so.
(ii) Scholars will be required totake part in community involvement programmes or projects deemed appropriateand/or directed by the school.
5. RIGHTS
(i) Scholarship Committee’s decision is final for allocation of scholarships
(ii) No legal action can be taken in disputes in which claims are raised against school as to annulment, revision or the issue of examination results.
(iii) Scholarship Committee reserves the right to change the Terms and Conditions at any time and the current version can be found on the school’s website.
(iv) Scholarship Committee reserves the right to modify, cancel, terminate or suspend the Scholarship programme in whole or in part, at its sole discretion, if it believes the Scholarship programme is not capable of being conducted as specified within these Terms and Conditions.
(v) Scholarship Committee failure to enforce any provision of these Terms and Conditions in a given instance shall not constitute the waiver of such provision
(vi) Scholarship Committee may, at its sole discretion, add further stages to the selection process for the Scholarship programme as it deems reasonably necessary in order to resolve any problems arising as a result of such actions.
(vii) By signing the acceptance form for the scholarships, you explicitly agree to these terms and conditions of the scholarships.
